In an atmospheric setting under the open sky, you can enjoy beautiful music that will take you to the far reaches of the universe.
The evening begins with a special audio introduction by none other than astronaut André Kuipers. With his unique perspective on space, he will set the tone for a musical journey led by concert pianist Jeroen van Veen, one you won’t soon forget.
Music program includes: • Einaudi – His enchanting pieces Fly and Night are must-haves in this program. • Vangelis – Known for his iconic film music, including Blade Runner and 1492: Conquest of Paradise. • Gustav Holst – Parts of his masterpiece The Planets will be performed, bringing each planet in our solar system musically to life. • Ludwig van Beethoven – His soothing Moonlight Sonata will, of course, not be missing. • Hans Zimmer – Epic soundtracks from films like Interstellar and Inception will transport you to other worlds. • Mike Oldfield – Selections from The Songs of Distant Earth.
Lying beneath the stars, with the historic Maritime Museum as a backdrop, you can fully immerse yourself in these cosmic sounds. Let the music be your guide on a journey through time and space.
Make this evening an unforgettable experience and enjoy music in a whole new way. We look forward to seeing you at this special event!
