In the frame of the European Union’s CASSINI (Competitive Advantage of Space Startups for Innovation) Initiative, the European Commission and EUSPA (European Union Agency for the Space Programme) jointly organise a competition called CASSINI Challenges, which has a €1.15 million prize pool in total for various tracks.

CASSINI Challenges and by submitting your innovations, you are in with a chance to boost your space startup! Whether you are beginning your space journey, launched a startup or are at the phase scaling up, exciting opportunities are open to you.
This info session will include an informative outline of the overall initiative. You’ll find out about the competition’s three tracks – ideas, prototypes and products – as well as the requirements, resources and deadlines. The third part, covering the majority of the session, will be dedicated to questions and discussion. Take this opportunity to engage in an interactive Q&A session with Peter, asking questions and gaining valuable insights into the challenges.
About CASSINI
There are multiple opportunities under CASSINI that support entrepreneurs, startups and small–medium enterprises in the space industry, including NewSpace, under the initiative from 2021–2027. It is open to all areas of the EU Space Programme and covers both upstream (i.e. nanosats, launchers, etc.) and downstream (i.e. products/services enabled by space data, etc.). CASSINI includes a total of €1 billion EU seeds and growth fund, hackathons and mentoring, prizes, a business accelerator, partnering and matchmaking.
About the presenter
Peter VanÃk is an onsite consultant in EUSPA’s Market, Downstream & Innovation Department. He supports startups developing innovative products and services with space data through the EU’s CASSINI Initiative. He is growing the CASSINI Investor Network to help startups raise funds and improve Europe’s space investment landscape. Peter is also working with European business accelerators to provide tailored opportunities for startups.
Note: This will be a hybrid info session. Participants will join the event in the Media Room at SBIC Noordwijk and Peter will deliver his exclusive presentation with Q&A discussion online from his base in Prague.
