MISSION AND VISION

As the American astronaut Jim Lovell once said, “We do not realise what we have on Earth until we leave it.” With this insight in mind, we are dedicated to securing a healthy future for planet Earth and its inhabitants. We are committed to shaping the future together, in collaboration with astronauts, the space industry, ESA-ESTEC, the government, business partners, and the youth.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS AND ACTIVITIES

Alongside its partners, the ASE aims to make this historic event in the Netherlands a resounding success by highlighting the indispensable role of space exploration in ensuring a safe and sustainable future across numerous sectors. This will be achieved through various activities throughout the congress week. Each day will feature presentations and panel sessions with astronauts and experts, all taking place at ESA-ESTEC in Noordwijk, the heart of the Dutch space industry.

COMMUNITY DAY

On Wednesday, during the “Community Day,” astronauts will visit universities, schools, companies, and institutions across the country. Additionally, there will be a diverse range of cultural activities.

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION

The younger generation will play an integral role in these proceedings. They are the future technicians, engineers, and skilled professionals. All “Vakkanjers” aged between approximately 10 and 16 will take on a Space Challenge presented by the astronauts in the 2024-2025 school year.

Students aged approximately 16 to 26 are encouraged to come up with incredible ideas in various fields through NL MOONSHOTS ’24. The goal is to inspire the younger generation toward science, technology, innovation, and sustainability.
