We are pleased to announce that Demi Kerkvliet has joined SBIC Noordwijk and NL Space Campus as our new Event Coordinator. Demi brings a fresh perspective to event management with her passion for organizing impactful events and a background in Facility Management. In her role, she will manage a variety of events, including conferences, masterclasses, hackathons, and networking sessions, while ensuring a smooth experience for all involved.
About Demi
“My name is Demi Kerkvliet; I am 23 years old. In my spare time, I train children at a youth circus, teaching them tricks on a unicycle and how to walk on a tightrope. Besides that, I enjoy going fishing with my dad.”, Demi shares.
Demi studied Facility Management at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. After graduating, she began working at HOEZO!, a conference organization focused on providing support for people in poverty and debt. After 1.5 years, she was ready for a new challenge, and that’s when she discovered the opportunity at SBIC Noordwijk and NL Space Campus. “Organising events in the space industry sounds interesting!” Demi explains.
Looking Ahead
Demi is excited about the possibilities in her new role. “I’m most looking forward to organizing new events where people can meet and where we can fulfill their needs. Besides, I’m looking forward to getting to know more about the ‘space’ industry, the people within it, and the partners.”
Connecting with the Community
Demi encourages the community to reach out with ideas for new events. “When a new event needs to be organised, or if you have any ideas for a theme for a new event, feel free to reach out to me,” she says. “I hope that by organizing events, I can bring the community together to share knowledge and foster new collaborations. One example is Networks&Drinks, which takes place on the last Thursday of every month. This event features 3-minute pitches from space-related organizations, community updates, and networking over drinks.
