Introducing Emre Halici: New Programme Assistant at NL Space Campus

We are excited to introduce Emre Halici as the newest member of our team at NL Space Campus. Emre joins us as Programme Assistant for multiple projects, such as Space for Talent, bringing fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to our efforts in fostering talent within the Dutch space sector. In this role, Emre will work on market research, applying AI in business processes, improving our websites and working on business development tools.ย

Space Enthusiast and Nikkei Foodie

Emre is currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. An aviation enthusiast at heart, Emre has been captivated by space ever since witnessing the SpaceX Falcon rocket land nearly a decade ago. Beyond academics, he is a passionate foodie, with a special love for Nikkei cuisine, a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese flavors. His hobbies include baking, cooking, going to the gym, and running. Emre has a knack for quickly picking up new hobbiesโ€”heโ€™s competed in swimming, played football, and even tried breakdancing. He also enjoys learning new languages and is currently working on his fifth (Dutch, English, Turkish, German and now Russian).ย

Excited by the NL Space Campus Ecosystem

Emreโ€™s familiarity with NL Space Campus began during his time with the Da Vinci Satellite Team, where he served as Treasurer and later as Business Manager. His frequent participation at our events made him eager to become more involved.ย ย

โ€œI was already impressed by the sense of community and openness at NL Space Campus, and Iโ€™m excited to contribute further. This role allows me to deepen my network with the industry and gain hands-on experience beyond the classroom,โ€ Emre shares.ย

Emre is eager to connect with community members, whether at our monthly networking events or for one-on-one chats. Heโ€™s particularly passionate about helping students and young professionals navigate their first steps in the space sector. His experience offers valuable insights for any students interested to grow their career in the space industry.ย ย

Vision for NL Space Campus and Opportunities for Students

Looking ahead, Emre envisions NL Space Campus as a vibrant, physical hub for collaboration in the Dutch space sector. โ€œA real, physical campus would amplify the sense of community, providing a space where professionals and students can meet, exchange ideas, and foster partnerships,โ€ he says.ย

For young professionals and students, Emre emphasizes the importance of networking. โ€œThe Netherlands is a great place to start a career in space. Attend events, connect with people, and learn about the companies in the sector. Itโ€™s the best way to discover opportunities and find what excites you.โ€ย
