NL Space Campus verwelkomt de recente kabinetsreactie op de Lange-termijn Ruimtevaartagenda (LTR). Deze reactie bevestigt de ambities voor een versterkt nationaal ruimtevaartcluster en levert een positieve impuls voor de gehele space sector. De reactie onderschrijft de noodzaak van een geïntegreerd ruimtevaartbeleid en bevestigt dat NL Space Campus als toonaangevend innovatie- en samenwerkingsplatform een centrale rol speelt.
De kabinetsreactie benadrukt dat een intensievere samenwerking tussen Rijk en regio essentieel is om Nederland’s positie in het internationale ruimtevaartlandschap te waarborgen en versterken. NL Space Campus fungeert hierbij als katalysator voor innovatie, kennisdeling en commerciële kansen. Bovendien krijgt de gehele space sector in Nederland met de onderschrijving van de 6 Missies uit de LTR een broodnodige impuls, waardoor zowel gevestigde spelers als innovatieve startups kunnen profiteren van verbeterde samenwerking en nieuwe marktkansen.

Tegelijkertijd is het cruciaal te benadrukken dat deze reactie pas echt relevant wordt als deze gepaard gaat met de minimale extra investeringen die de sector hard nodig heeft – investeringen die op dit moment nog niet zijn vastgesteld.
Daarnaast ziet NL Space Campus in de kabinetsreactie ook de mogelijkheid om de positie van Nederland op Europees niveau verder te versterken als toonaangevende ruimtevaarthub. Deze steun biedt de aanleiding om de fysieke ontwikkeling van de campus te versnellen. Hierbij gaat het om de uitbreiding van faciliteiten die samenwerking bevorderen tussen Europese topinstituten zoals ESTEC, Nederlandse en Europese kennisinstellingen en de industrie. Een dergelijk uitgebreid en geïntegreerd campusconcept zal niet alleen de innovatie en kennisdeling verder stimuleren, maar ook de internationale concurrentiekracht van Nederland op het gebied van ruimtevaart versterken en het vestigingsklimaat voor internationale organisaties verder verbeteren.

NL Space Campus welcomes the recent government’s response to the Long-Term Space Agenda (LTR). This response confirms the ambitions for a strengthened national space cluster and provides a positive impulse for the entire space sector. The response endorses the need for an integrated space policy and confirms that NL Space Campus plays a central role as a leading innovation and collaboration platform.
The government’s response emphasises that more intensive cooperation between the central government and the region is essential to safeguard and strengthen the Netherlands’ position in the international space landscape. NL Space Campus acts as a catalyst for innovation, knowledge sharing and commercial opportunities. Moreover, the endorsement of the 6 Missions from the LTR will give the entire space sector in the Netherlands a much-needed boost, allowing both established players and innovative startups to benefit from improved collaboration and new market opportunities.
The government’s response confirms what we have been signalling for a long time: an integrated national space policy is indispensable for a strong international position. The clear support from the government gives direction to the space cluster and reflects positively on the entire sector. At the same time, it is crucial to emphasise that this response will only become truly relevant if it is accompanied by the minimum additional investment that the sector desperately needs – investments that have not yet been identified.
In addition, NL Space Campus also sees the government’s response as an opportunity to further strengthen the position of the Netherlands as a leading space hub at the European level. This support provides the opportunity to accelerate the physical development of the campus. This involves the expansion of facilities that promote cooperation between top European institutes such as ESTEC, Dutch and European knowledge institutions and industry. Such an extensive and integrated campus concept will not only further stimulate innovation and knowledge sharing, but also strengthen the international competitiveness of the Netherlands in the field of space and further improve the business climate for international organisations.
