CLOSING DAY of #TheSpaceWeekNL recap video: BIG BANG
All good things come to an end, and so The Space Week ended last Sunday with a BIG BANG! Thousands of people visited the grounds of NL Space Campus in Noordwijk to celebrate the closing of The Space Week with the ESA Open Day and The Space Week festival: we couldn’t wait to share a glimpse of what the Closing Day looked like: so here it is!

✨ The day was opened with a warm welcome by Torben Kristian Henriksen, Josef Aschbacher, and astronauts André Kuipers and Matthias Maurer
✨ At the Open Day, ESA/ESTEC opened their doors to laboratories and other areas. Visitors of all ages, sectors and nationalities were able to discover what space is all about!
✨ The NL Space tent of NSO – Netherlands Space Office, very well organised by Jasper Wamsteker and Jennifer Hordijk, showcased many important players in the space industry through a powerful programme during the day including: the festive celebration of TROPOMI 5 year anniversary, Q&A with astronaut André Kuipers, business presentations, a space quiz and more! Here, the general public was able to dive into the space industry and connect with each other.
✨ The Space Week Festival area on Space Expo terrain included the Space Rocks podium with a programme like you’ve never seen before. Director Esther Peters welcomed visitors on behalf of NL Space Campus, and Izzie Clarke moderated the event: it isn’t often that you get a world-famous DJ (Lilly Palmer), an actor from one of the best sci fi shows of all time (Dominique Tipper), and astronaut (Matthias Maurer) and many more in 1 room together: shoutout to Space Rocks for putting together this incredible experience.
✨ Space expo was freely accessible for everyone throughout the entire day: special thanks to Barbara Hoppel!
