Since 2013, a Walk of Space is being created on Noordwijk’s Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard. The first tile was one with Wubbo Ockels’s astronaut boot print. Since then, thirteen more tiles with hand- and footprints of famous astronauts have been laid. This year and in the coming years, new astronaut prints are set to follow. During the week of the Astronaut Congress (ASE 2024) and the NL Space Week in Noordwijk, a celebratory event will feature the unveiling of three new tiles on the ‘Walk of Space’, being the tiles of: astronauts Rick Hieb from the United States, Reinhold Ewald from Germany and Julie Payette from Canada. The Walk of Space is publicly available in Noordwijk.
